Nintendo is keen on showing that its imminent DSi isn’t just a simple rehash with a few cameras installed, with much of the improvement under the hood. According to tests by N+, the Opera-based browser is considerably faster than its previous NDS iteration, and also renders websites differently - the new version loads the text first to allow users to begin reading while all those high-res pics are slowly downloading.

The DSi’s browser is also free and can be saved directly to the DSi’s internal memory, eliminating the need for cartridges. Seems like Nintendo really nailed this one!

I love Nintendo but the region lock thing is such a pain in the arse. I’ll probably buy one eventually but not any time soon.
