Well, now Botanicalls has given us a product that will allow even our plants to be a hip and trendy citizens of Twitter. The product has a sensor that keeps track of the plant’s moisture levels, and upon being over or under watered, will tweet (to its own account, no less) one of an assortment of messages that describes the detected moisture state of the plant, such as:
- “Ease off, buddy. You over-watered me.”
- “Ugh. I’m WICKED thirsty!”
- “You didn’t water me enough.”
- “Thank you for watering me.”
For a live example, pop on over to mr_ikea_plant’s or pothos‘ Twitter pages. These kits can be purchased from Think Geek, Adafruit, and MakerShed, retailing for $99 - just don’t be too shocked if you find out one of your Tweeps is actually a plant.
