Blackberry is one of the sexiest smart phones I have ever used (and yes I’ve used the iPhone). So when Blackberry unleashed the the Bold, I had a geekgasm. Not only is it a touch phone but it’s got a sexy new look that will have all your handhelds jealous. I know my Samsung Eternity is. More »

Fujitsu’s FLEPia has been in the works for over three years, and will at long, eager awaited last, release the color e-book reader to all the voracious readers who require a little more than the monotony of black and white on April 20. Besides the color screen, the FLEPia has all the other necessary trimmings - More »

Remember how terrifyingly awesome the giant tarantula from Wild Wild West was? Besides the freakin’ hugeness and fireball spitting part of it, I always thought the joint articulations and hydraulics were pretty cool. Based on kinetic sculptures of Theo Jansen, a team at the University of Louisiana have taken us one step closer to robotic arachnid hell with their Cajun Crawler, More »

Blizzard recently commissioned a statue from WETA, special effects masters from The Lord of the Rings movies. It currently now stands outside of the new Activision – Blizzard offices, 12 feet tall.

While I’m all for the 12 foot statue of an orc riding a wolf, I’m not exactly standing in awe. However it is very well detailed. More »

On Lenovo’s Flickr stream, interesting renders appeared recently, mhmm, yes. Show off wildly sleek netbook they did, remind us of Vaio P they do. “Pocket Yoda“, the name is, hehehehe, permeated tech industry, my popularity has. Very strong, the force is with this one - a leather surface it is covered with, and folds back to become mini-tablet it is capable of. More »

We’ve all heard of wearing your heart on your sleeve, but how about wearing a phrase on your wrist? Check out the Sound Advice Project, where parents can forever immortalize their words of wisdom in bracelet form. Here’s the skinny: The parent records a voice clip of advice they would like their child to remember, and the shape of the resulting audio clip’s waveform is then used as a 3D model to create said bracelet. While anything is cuter than my buddy Tek, this little fellow is particularly cute thanks to its MP3 features.

Unlike most furry friends, it has a 2GB internal memory with functions on it’s footies. Aw! The whole thing will only cost you $35, however, I’m still trying to figure out where you stick the USB. More »

In case you haven’t seen enough of Boxee lately, in their ongoing web-TV content wars with heavyweight provider, Hulu, here’s another fresh tidbit from the Boxee camp: there’s a shiny new iPhone app in town, and it’s name is Boxee Remote. No, you can’t stream media or get remote access to your account from your phone, but you can use your iPhone in place of the Apple remote to navigate around Boxee. More »

We knew it was coming: the standout feature of Apple’s new iPod Shuffle is the three-button remote on the earphone cord, which immediately raises the alarming issue of not being able to use your own non-Shuffle intended buds. Turns out our concerns were quite warranted - the new Shuffle will only be able to be controlled by remotes installed with a Apple-licensed authentication chip More »

An interesting new netbook spotted in Taiwan finally gives us some insight on the specs behind Doraemon, mysterious robot cat from the future. Apparently, all it takes to conjure up anything you want from the netherworld in Doraemon’s pouch is a 1.6GHz Atom processor with 1GB of DDR2 and a 30GB hard drive More »

Relatively unknown Apple accessories maker Dexim was fast to put out their first piece of hardware to go with the new iPod Shuffle - the Shu-Lip replaces the oh so unsightly USB cable that comes with the Shuffle with an attachment that blends with the Shuffle, reminiscent of some of those FM transmitters that used to be popular with iPods. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) has yet to die as this crazed fan/inventor develops a TV remote out of DDR pads.

Genius? Probably not but now you can dance your way through TV channels. Obviously it works just like a DDR pad where you press/step on an arrow/button to control the TV. Simple enough; however, this idea has yet to be put to mass production. More »

Apple has released the new version of the iPod Shuffle, the littlest tweener in their portable audio player lineup. The new iteration carries on the Shuffle staples of a tiny form factor and no screen, but this new one adds quite a bit more in the way of functionality, but at what cost? More »

Perhaps we need to start calling them “finger drives“? Brutally interesting Yanko Design, the source of innovations such as the Dynamically Augmenting Wheel System (it’s actually much cooler than it sounds) and the versatile P+ bike system are fingering around with a new design - the YouSB, or a portable USB drive that comes out of your finger. Car companies have been designing overpriced exclusive fashion products for years, but finally the computer enthusiasts get a little love - popular case manufacturer Thermaltake has unveiled their Level 10 case, which was designed in conjunction with BMW’s Designworks USA. More »
