Adorably cute wildly successful rag doll dancing physics touting PS3 platformer LittleBigPlanet will be getting a PSP version some time this year, Sony revealed this week. Part of a bevy of announcements of new releases intended to give the stagnant PSP a new jolt of life, LBP will be joining other releases, among them new Resistance, Gran Turismo, Motorstorm, Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Kingdom Hearts titles.
LittleBigPlanet in particular was quite successful on the PS3 due to its clever theme and broad appeal, and had very good replay value due to its ability to download new fan-created levels. It’s unclear at this point whether the PSP version will benefit from such features, but given the UMD-less nature of the new PSP Go!, one can imagine that the PSP online store will be filled with downloadable content for just such applications.
The lack of the second analog stick on the PSP Go! does make hand-dancing a much more difficult prospect:
