Oh the price of novelty, of vanity, and of otherwise useless but nonetheless uber cool toys. Available for sale from uber cool sounding Big Bad Toy Store, the 2GB thumb drive emblazoned with the once-again ubiquitous Transformers logo is able to - as the name would suggest - transform into a giant cat, formerly known as Ravage.

Besides touting some impressive compatibility - Vista AND Mac, the symbol of a classic-modern thumb drive takes its unique standing to heart with both USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatibility. One does have to heed the warning, however:

Safety Warning: This Product is for Adult Collectors. It may contain sharp points, small parts that are choking hazards, and other elements that are not suitable for children under 16 years of age.

Clearly, the warning is not to keep those away with poor hand-eye coordination to prevent any eye-poking from the tail: after all, many 15 year olds spend all day playing fast paced, intense video games with great skill and success; rather, perhaps the warning is a clever ploy to deter those who would take the Transformers franchise to be a new-school product of the movie starring Megan Fox and that annoying half-dorky dammit-he-gets-to-make-out-with-Megan-Fox guy who was also in Eagle Eye and Indiana Jones. No, kiddies, I was watching Transformers TV shows before you were even placed on this earth by the grace of your parents.

Skeptics of the price would point to how much 2GB drives cost nowadays (free) or how much you could get with $43 (like, a lot), but do those “other” drives have the Transformers logo on it? Can they morph into incredible killing machines out to save the world from evil?

I think not!
