Don’t ever tell Sophia Frost of Rayleigh, Essex, that gadgets can’t save lives. That’s because her iPod saved her from being struck by lightning.

The lightning bolt went through her earphones into her iPod instead of hitting her. She did pass out and suffered burns on her body but was not severely injured or worse, killed.

According to the Sophie’s mother, she’s glad the iPod saved her daughter’s life,

“I just thank God my daughter is still alive. The doctors say her iPod saved her. Her nan only bought it a few days ago. Luckily, she wasn’t actually wearing the headphones. If she had been, she might not be here today. Mind you, the only thing Sophie seemed worried about was that her new iPod was frazzled.”

This gives everyone all the more reason to go out and buy more gadgets. It saves lives!
