T-Mobile is going to announce a new phone operating on Google’s Android software. The phone which will probably be named, myTouch 3G, and is the predecessor to Google’s first Android phone, the G1. The phone will again be made by HTC.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the new phone will be very similar to the HTC Magic which is currently out in the UK, won’t come with a keyboard, and is thinner than the G1 and the iPhone. It will still have the track ball and navigation button that’s present currently on the G1.
The Google Android software will stay the same with a few new features including voice activated search. The myTouch 3G will have a big hardware upgrade from the Android G1, which many complained was clunky due to the swivel keyboard. The phone will also have a rounded back and a glossy look.
Even with these new hardware features, the myTouch 3G will be competing against some stiff competition from Apple’s iPhone 3GS, Palm’s Pre and the Upcoming Blackberry Tour.
Ahh can’t wait for the summer of smartphones. It should be a good one.

i was going to get the G1 cause of the full keybord so this dosent intrest me
You should consider this phone before heading to the G1. This phone looks really good and the virtual keys aren’t as bad as people make them out to be. Give it a try before making your decision

It looks okay. I would still like a keypad though.
