HTC has been pretty busy this spring and will continue to be with their new HTC Hero announcement. The Hero running an updated Google’s Android software has some pretty slick things up its sleeve. The new phone will feature something called Sense.
Sense is the new interface on the Hero and it’s not just a name. It delivers unlike any other Google Android based phone, including Flash support for the first time. Along with the new Sense interface comes some pretty standard integrated social networking applications, Facebook, Flickr, and most likely Twitter. It’ll also offer multitouch, putting it in competition with the new Palm Pre and the iPhone 3GS.
Here are some of the specs:
- 3.2-inch HVGA screen
- Anti-hand print coating
- 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus
- Dedicated search button
- Digital compass
- Standard 3.5 mm headphone jack.
- Talk time:
Up to 420 minutes for WCDMA
Up to 470 minutes for GSM
Standby time:
Up to 750 hours for WCDMA
Up to 440 hours for GSM
Look for this phone to hit the Asian and European markets before heading over the Atlantic to the United States later this year.

This looks like an awesome phone. I’m an iPhone user but this could definitely give the iphone a run for its money.
