The Zune HD is almost here. That’s according to a new tip received by Gizmodo. The release date for the hyped Microsoft Music/Video player is September 8th, right before the start of school. It’ll come in 16 and 32GB versions.
It’s been noted the Zune HD will offer Nvidia’s high performance Tegra processor. The Tegra processor will allow the Zune device to have better video quality and longer battery life. The Tegra is designed to handle high definition content, which the Zune HD will be sporting in its small package.
September is also the month Apple usually holds their annual iPod refresh event. It’s already been rumored there will be a new iPod Touch. Can Microsoft’s Zune give Apple some much needed competition in the portable media player field? We’ll have to wait and find out in September.
