Google announced this morning, that Google Voice invites are currently being emailed to those who are on their reservation list.
If you haven’t received your invite, do not panic. Google claims the invite list is pretty lengthy and will take some time before everyone on the list gets an invite.
Google announced their new service on NBC’s Today Show this morning and then through Twitter,
Google Voice is the new feature Google that will allow cell phone users to have a second number with features such as calls, text messages and voicemails on the same cell phone through the user’s wireless carrier.
It was previously only available to Grandcentral users. Google acquired GrandCentral, which originally offered the voice feature, in 2007.
If you’d like an invite to Google Voice, just go to their site here and click “get an invite”.

Um…good for Google I guess but once again, they’re competing with Skype with this one? I know with the major phone and cable companies on this one.
