AppleInsider reported a few days ago that Apple will possibly drop prices on the upcoming iMac line. The rumors come after Apple had a price cut on their Macbook Pro lines during their World Wide Development Conference in June.
The Appleinsider report also states the price cuts would be somewhere between 7%-10%, which is what the Macbook Pro line saw.
Rumors of a iMac and Macbook price cut were in the works since April. While the Macbooks saw a price, the iMacs did not see it. Apple is looking to make the price cuts this upcoming fall, when they have their annual iPod and computer refresh. If you’re waiting for a new iMac or for a cheaper offering from Apple, hold off till this fall, the prices will be much more comparable. Right now the cheapest price for an iMac is $1199 for a 20-inch 2.66 Ghz model with 2GB of RAM.

This would be pretty cool because it would be a nice way for Apple to pick up all those PC customers that want to blow up their computers for all the faulty softwares and cheap hardwares.
