The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Dell is currently working on a pocket-sized gadget capable of accessing the internet, but would not have cell phone capability. Naturally this report has very little weight behind it, and this Dell gadget may just be another of many exploratory prototypes that never make it to the market, but when a giant like Dell says that they’re working on a Google Android-based portable, one tends to listen.

Not much more info available other than that it’s slightly larger than the iPod Touch. Astute readers will notice that the above pic is of a Sony Mylo, the portable internet machine not capable of making calls that was released several years ago and quickly faded into obscurity, soon to be re-released with the different name of “PSP Go!”

Dell, are you really about to go down this path?
