Yesterday Apple introduced three new patent applications which would improve the use of the iPhone and possibly the lives of iPhone users that much easier.
First of the three patents was Haptic Feedback. Haptic Feedback makes the touch screen keyboard more analogous to that of real buttons. Haptic technology alerts the user of which button they pressed, either through a slight vibration or pressure.
The second patent was fingerprint identification, which allows the device to recognize which finger the operator used (index finger to enable iPod, thumb to unlock iPhone, etc.). This was not meant for security purposes in the sense that the iPhone would use the fingerprint to allow certain users access to the phone, although it can be a feature sometime in the near future to improve the protection of the iPhone.
A third patent was RFID reader or radio frequency identification. RFID is the use of a device (called a RFID tag), which is put into an animal or item to track it through radio waves. In the case of the iPhone, it would use an integrated circuit (behind the touch screen), used for storing and processing information.
Apple plans to put a RFID antenna in the touch sensor panel in the iphone. These advances clearly indicate that the phone market is growing and with it the technology. It does seem that the iPhone still has a long way to go but these applications when implemented, will offer major improvements in the phones and industry.

I’m pretty sure that the other person would reset before they sold it because if they don’t their contacts and songs will still be saved on the iphone.
