Michael Arrington, the man behind the TechCrunch websites, has come out with a web tablet and plans to unveil it in either July or August and will be available soon after for under $300.
Arrington is a former tech blogger that created the network of “Crunch” sites and now has created a separate company, CrunchPad to release the upcoming 12-inch web tablet. The atom powered touchscreen device will not have the ability to download any files or applications. It’s strictly a device that powers up right into the browser but does have the ability to connect to computers through USB and download files.
The device is hoping to directly compete with netbooks as Michael Arrington claimed. “most people will find it works as good as a netbook or better.” As a fan of the latest gadgets in the market, I’m excited for this device and definitely looking forward to it. This might be the “other” device I’ve been waiting for to watch all my Hulu and Netflix from the comforts of my bed. If this does what it says it will, then put me on board.
