Sonos, the makers of the wireless audio system, has launched their second generation remote control for their extremely popular audio system. The Sonos CR200 provides wireless multi-touch control of zoneplayers throughout the house or apartment.
The updated device brings touch screen capability missing in their first remote control. It’s also smaller in scale, has a glass screen, up to 5 days of battery life, a rugged body and removable battery, missing in the first remote control. (More pictures and details after the break).
What might hurt Sonos is the free version they offer for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch. That version has all the capabilities of the CR200 remote control, except for the automatic update feature. The cost of the new Sonos device is $350, while the cost of an iPod Touch is $229. Whether or not you stick with the free version, the Sonos CR200 remote control is definitely worth having if you have the money.
