Google’s announcement of their new operating system has been making waves across the internet. Some are praising Google for finally coming out with a operating system, while others weren’t sure whether Google can make the type of impact they’re hoping for.

Here are a few opinions and insights from of some of the leading tech bloggers.

- Wired posted 5 Things Google Chrome OS will do for netbooks, where many have complained about the inadequacy of Windows.

- CrunchGear says Chrome OS will just be targeting netbooks, and won’t have a significant impact on the Windows or OS X. They go onto explain that it’s a bargaining tool for manufacturer’s to lower the cost of Windows installed PC’s.

- PC World questions how well Chrome will fit with anything but the netbooks. They say Chrome will be great for netbooks and those used to Google Apps such as Doc, and Gmail but won’t be a great fit for notebooks or powerful desktops.

- Silicon Valley Insider writes that Chrome will also hurt Mac OS X since Apple’s products are already more expensive than their competition.

- Washington Post says Apple won’t be affected by the Chrome OS as much as Microsoft’s Windows will.

We’ll have to wait and see what Google has in store with their OS but they have definitely caused a stir in the tech world. I’m extremely curious to see how Apple and Microsoft will respond, if they do at all.
