Every day, security advances and crime rates decrease. Companies become faster, smarter and more efficient with their security systems. One company that takes a place at the top is BrickHouse Security. They have introduced a USB fingerprint lock with Access Control which uses a USB key to access records, preferences and lock information. (Details and more pics after the break)

This is a very effective solution for small business owners who want high level security without pricey installation. The users must insert a flash drive in the bottom of the lock in order to download the information which includes audit trials. This way, the employer can now easily see who has entered or left the premises and can view all the data in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. This lock also comes with optional fingerprint scanner and and PC management software to comfortably view the activities of your employees straight from your computer.

The PC management software is also customizable for each individual and allows access to only those you approve. The system can be programmed using the keypad on the lock and ex-employees can be deleted out of the system so that they don’t come back hoping to steal something or getting back at you for firing them. This seems to be a major step up from standard locks which don’t provide the same amount of security that the USB fingerprint lock does. Time to install one of these bad boys in my room to keep my siblings out.
