Sanyo, the company most famously known for their projectors and batteries have unveiled their newest tech, the Repoch. The device is pretty much a DVR (digital video recorder) that has both an analog and digital TV tuner but offers a removable HDD cartridges, just in case you fill it up by copying your favorite shows.
Looking very similar to the VHS player, the device offers an iVR (information Versatile Disk) for 320 gigabyte HDD cartridges. The design isn’t too great compared to other DVR systems but the price isn’t too bad for everything this comes with.
The Repoch includes one 160 gigabyte iVDR cartridge and is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in September for 61,950 Yen ($654). When it’ll come state side is still unknown but many will love a device that can store more of their favorite TV shows, I know I would.
