Here’s a crazy rumor that’s making some news, Amazon.com wants to buy the Netflix. Yup, that’s right. Amazon’s name has come up in talks about Netlflix possibly selling the company to the online giant. At the same time Netflix stock has shot up to a 11-week high after the news.
Both companies do offer similar video services with Netflix also being one of the top DVD rental site in the United States. If Amazon joins Netflix, they’ll be the best 1-2 combo in the video streaming department. That’s because Amazon has all the new movies and shows for streaming while Netflix has the older ones. On top of that, they’ve both been competing to bring the video streaming service to living rooms around the globe.
This could be one of those monumental acquisitions if it does go through. I don’t know how much this will effect the pricing of the online packages Netflix charges but the news has got Netflix stock holders really happy and usually when that happens, something is up.
