Guess what Apple, you’ll be getting some new neighbors this fall, Microsoft is planning to open retail stores right next to you. Apple’s highly successful and profitable retail shops are prompting Microsoft to do the same, which will bring a new kind of war, one that could end up in the streets between consumer, we’re hoping.
Microsoft COO Kevin Turner made the announcement today, saying this:
“And stay tuned, because we’re going to have some retail stores opened up that are opened up right next door to Apple stores this fall. Stay tuned, just stay tuned.”
I’m definitely ready for this. As if there isn’t enough bad blood between these two companies, this will take things to another level, outer space high. Okay let me calm down. I’m just excited to see what Apple, pretty much Steve Jobs, will do in response to this turf war. There weren’t many details revealed except the stores will be opening sometime this fall. Now if Microsoft creates a retail store on 5th Avenue, I wonder if it’ll blend in with the current Apple store or what will the Microsoft’s version of the Genius Bar be called? Hmmm things to ponder until the day finally arrives.
