Financial Times is hopping on the Apple rumor bandwagon. They’re reporting that Apple will be launching an internet tablet in September. FT is also saying Apple is partnering with music giants to provide videos and liner notes bundled with the new device. Wait but there’s more! Apple is apparently going to be targeting both Amazon and Barnes & Nobles, for a share of the eBook and eBook reader market.

Whether or not Financial Times is correct with their prediction, it does make some sense. Apple usually holds their annual iPod refresh in September, making it easy to release a music oriented device along with their iPod announcements. The music industry is hoping they can generate sales through an Apple partnership, similar to do what AT&T did by hooking up with Apple. I’m not so sure Apple can generate so many music sales, but Apple iTunes does sell a lot of tracks just because of the ease of use and downloads. Last quarter iTunes had over 8 million music downloads.

One surprising news that Financial Times did mention was that Apple will not be releasing a device with build-in internet service from Verizon. Rumors the past week have suggested that Apple and Verizon for working together to create an internet ready tablet but Financial Times dismisses those claims. September is a little more than a month away, and if any of these rumors hold true, we’ll be looking at a new Apple device hitting the market.
