This bit of news is not surprising at all. NY state Senator Chuck Schumer is leading a group of Senators in introducing a new legislation that would ban text while driving. This new legislation comes after a new research study from Virginia Tech Transportation Institute said that truck drivers were 23 times more likely to crash if they were texting.

This is a great idea for a number of reasons. First of all, the obvious, it’ll force people to stop or cut back on texting while driving. Second it’ll decrease the number of accidents by texters, a safety concern that is increasing regularly.

It’s hard enough trying to pick up your phone or even see the missed call, let alone trying to type while driving. It’s amazing to think people actually attempt to text when they’re driving with so many others on the road.

This is a good thing. I’m happy for this to be happening.

Why can’t people just pull over or check when they’re not driving? =\ It’s not that hard
