Nothing new here but AT&T is reporting there was an increase of Wi-Fi use by 41 percent after the launch of the iPhone OS 3.0. The reason for the increase is simple, OS 3.0 made logging into AT&T hotspots easy by saving all the login info. Not surprised by the increase in numbers. Actually I was expect the numbers to even be higher since the iPhone 3GS broke all types of sales record on launch weekend.
AT&T says the number of iPhone users logging into their Wi-Fi service tripled since the last quarter. I know I’ve been using the Wi-Fi every chance I get. Most days it logs in the moment it notices the Wi-Fi, while other days it takes a few seconds to connect. Either way, it’s no surprise the number of people logging into AT&T’s network is so high. Anytime something is offered free and is easy to use people will make the most out of it.
