Logitech, makers of universal remotes and all things computer, are now getting into professional presentations. They’re releasing a palm-sized wireless device that will countdown the time you have left in your presentation on a LED screen and send vibrating alerts as well at timed intervals.
The vibration feature intervals are five minutes, two minutes and when time expires. The device also comes with a green laser pointer and will allow you to control a presentation from a 100 feet away.
I love gadgets, especially when it makes life easier, but I’m not sold on this one. Presentations are hard as it is, with groups of people staring at you, waiting for you to make a mistake. With a countdown clock, you have to rush through material if the device in your hand and is constantly updating you on the time left. I’d rather go with what I have instead of consistently thinking, “Oh shit, I have 2 minutes left, I better hurry.”
