The Nintendo DSi is officially a hit. After being launched 8 months ago in Japan, the DSi is nearing 7 million units sold. The exact number is 6.68 million units and will continue to increase as the one year anniversary looms in November. Black Friday and Christmas will be huge for Nintendo as they look to surpass 7 million units.
The DSi has become a hit even though it offers very similar features to its older model, the Nintendo DS. The DSi offered a camera and updated software. Who knows what made the difference in the popularity of the DSi, the camera or the new software. I’m banking on the camera, cuz you know we all love taking pictures with every gadget we own.
