Facebook’s much anticipated new iPhone App is almost done, and prepping to be submitted into the App store. That’s according to Facebook developer Joe Hewitt, who wrote on his Twitter Friday night, “The app is pretty much done - we’re just working on translating it into a bunch of languages.”

Some of the upcoming features in the new app will be news feed, ability to “like” items, a customizable home screen and video support for the iPhone 3GS. The news feed and video support will be major factors. News feed will mimic the current format on the Facebook site. Video support will allow iPhone users another avenue to upload videos. Currently iPhone 3GS users can upload videos to YouTube and it has become an extremely popular feature.

When TechCrunch asked Hewitt if users can expect the app soon, his response was “Can’t be sure - translating could take a while. I’ve been avoiding predicting an actual release date“.

After the release of the app, it still has to go through the App store process, which has been having its issues lately, but shouldn’t be a problem considering Facebook already has an app in the App store.

Can’t wait for the upcoming Facebook app. Maybe they’ll also improve picture uploads as well. It’d be great to be able to upload more than one picture at a time. If videos can be uploaded, then the ability to upload multiple pics shouldn’t be a problem.
