Boy Genius Reports has a pretty amazing rumor from a reliable source. According to Boy Genius, the next version of iTunes, iTunes 9, will have some awesome features including Blu-Ray support, a new way to organize apps, as well as Facebook, Twitter and possible Last.fm integration.

Blu-ray support is very likely in iTunes 9 after AppleInsider reported on Friday, that the new iMacs will probably support Blu-ray. We all know Steve Jobs is not a fan of Blu-ray, he’s been noted as calling Blu-ray a “bag of hurt” but it is a feature that many Apple fans have been clamoring for.

A Twitter and Facebook support on iTunes would benefit Apple greatly. It has the potential to let Twitter and Facebook to post what songs their friends and followers are listening to and provide a link to iTunes to purchase the song. This can give Apple a huge advantage in digital music sales. This might also become a business plan for Twitter and Facebook, both looking for a solid business plan to make money off their highly popular social networking platforms.

Apple has worked with Facebook before, most recently integrating Facebook in iPhoto, which allows users to tag, create albums and upload pictures directly from the desktop onto Facebook without ever having to visit the Facebook site. It’s a very sleek feature, which uploads pictures faster than through the actual site (at least that’s what I’ve experienced).

Whatever Apple has planned, it’ll probably revealed sometime in September when Apple holds their, now annual, iPod refresh. It’s the perfect time to introduce anything music related, and will finally give users features they’ve been waiting for some time.

Here’s a concept of the upcoming App Management in iTunes.
