Apple’s Snow Leopard hasn’t even hit shelves and analysts are already predicting the revenue Mac OS X Snow Leopard will bring in. Of course that’s their job, one I wouldn’t mind having but sometimes they just say the most obvious things. Here’s what the analysts are saying about Snow Leopard, which hits store shelves on Friday.
The 40 million plus install base and with unit sales of up to 5 million (predicted), Snow Leopard will add a revenue of over $66 million to Apple’s quarterly income. Now that’s information I wasn’t aware of and wouldn’t mind hearing. Now let’s get to some of the obvious parts.
- Snow Leopard is a minor upgrade and costs $29.
- Snow Leopard is just a minor technology update, unlike XP and Vista.
- Snow Leopard will run fast on Intel based Macs.
Of course, the last bit, that Snow Leopard will offer Microsoft Exchange support email, contacts and calendars. Apparently, Windows doesn’t have this. I’m not a big fan of Microsoft Exchange and honestly have never really cared for it muc, so I wasn’t aware that Windows didn’t offer it.
Analysts predict Snow Leopard to be a hit, so what about you? Do you think Snow Leopard will be a hit with the Mac crowd? Will you be there in the stores on Friday, getting your hands on a copy or placed a pre-order?
