Depositing and withdrawing cash will be a hoot now, thanks to the Cockney-rhyming ATM. A firm that operates ATM’s in the UK is installing these fun ATM’s in areas at the East End of London.

For the next three months, five ATM’s owned by the Bank Machine will be using cockney rhyming slang. You can “Balance on Charlie Sheen” or “Sausage and Mash No Receipt”, which basically means that you don’t need a receipt. This will be very hard for tourists to understand and will probably get them all mixed up. I mean, if I was trying to deposit some money, why on earth would I balance it on Charlie Sheen first?

Good thing it’s only for three months because if it was longer, more people would have forgotten how to speak the proper language. This is a very smart move on the Bank Machine’s part because they are getting their name out there and doing something fun with it. As for US banks, lets just hope they don’t add slang to their machines.
