Contact lenses are quickly covering the tracks of glasses as they become a part of the past, but these contact lenses won’t be making onto eyes anytime soon. Just the thought of your eyes providing you with analytical information can flabbergast anyone.

‘Augmented Lenses’ is quickly becoming the newest vision correcting technology as trial and error tests are being conducted and the machinery in itself is on its way. In the lenses, there is a prototype that allows the user to see single crystal silicon components, compound semiconductor components, radio chips, minuscule antennae, and an LED.

Incorporating all of this into something as small as a contact lens is amazing and developing it to work with the human eye just pushes it over the top. As said before, trials have been done with similar contact lens on rabbits and each time, the lens worked for 20 minutes. We might be seeing this take over in the future as glasses become more of a fashion statement.
