Last night, I finally got to see the Apple Event from the Apple website. While I followed the event online through live blogging, watching it told me the whole story, it was one of the biggest event disappointments in recent memory.
The iPod Touch didn’t get a camera (like it was heavily rumored), nor did it get any other features. The 5th Generation Nano got a camera, but it doesn’t take still pictures. There was a lot of buzz coming into this year’s Apple iPod Event but it stunk. Steve Jobs got a bigger ovation than the actual products. Remember when Apple introduced the iPhone, iPod Touch, and Macbook Air? That was the kind of ovation Jobs received in his return to the Apple helm.
If Apple continues to come out with events like this, they’ll will lose some of the buzz they create every year. Jobs talked about a few new products Apple planning to roll out, those are the products we want to see, not a slightly updated iPod Touch and a Nano with a camera on it.
This year’s iPod event was a bummer, hopefully Apple doesn’t stink up the place during their next event, which should introduce the Apple Tablet or some of the other products Apple is working on.
