Sony is pushing new boundaries today with the introduction of the Sony Walkman A840. These iPod Nano like music players are not anything we’ve seen from Sony. It’s their thinnest Walkman music player ever at 7.2mm. It offers a 2.8-inch OLED screen but no touchscreen, Wi-Fi or HD output.
It comes with a noise-canceling feature that might attract some new users. Here are some quick specs:
- Videos get automatically converted when dragging into the music player (wish the iPod did that).
- Available in Black or Brown around Halloween
- Available in 3 capacities, 16GB ($263), 32GB ($329) and 64GB ($439)
If you’re not into the Zune HD or the iPod line, then you may want to give Sony a shot with this Walkman device. These look absolutely gorgeous but will the features be as good as the Zune HD or iPod Touch? That’s what consumers are going to want to know, if they can get past the gorgeous design.
