Sometimes when you hear something over and over, you start to believe it. That seems to be the case with Apple when they’re selling their products. Folks over at Apple, including Steve Jobs, believe in their product so much, you hear them using the same words over and over to describe it. Their enthusiasm about the products lead to customer’s believing in their products as well.
If you don’t know what I’m referring to, check out this awesome video of Steve Jobs at the Apple iPod Event last week (after the break). It’ll give you a few chuckles but also make you think about how much Apple believes in their product and how much they want you to believe in it too.
This type of “sales tactic” is usually used by startup companies trying to make their mark, not by one of the most established companies in tech history. It may also be one of the reasons why their products sell so well. The fact that they believe in it so much, makes you believe in it just as much. Steve Jobs always seems excited about the product he’s selling, even when consumers are not. Not once do you see Steve Jobs not talk about a product as if it was sent from the heavens. His excitement and enthusiasm filters to his Apple team and employees, and finally down to the consumers. When were you excited about getting a Zune or PC? It seems when people get an Apple product, there’s a certain level of excitement behind it.
Even if you don’t believe in Apple’s strategy and their products, this video proves one thing, Steve Jobs and Apple definitely know how to play with words to get into the heads of their consumers. Now don’t you feel like going out and buying an awesome iPod Nano?
