Hulu became one of the best online video/movie sites because of its free content and ability to watch TV shows the next day for free, but that may change and you might have to dish out some cash soon. Reports from a Frost and Sullivan analyst say that the site is working on the technical details so that they could add a pay subscription service. The site is currently doing internal beta testing, so expect this to take effect soon.

Mashable says that a service such as the one proposed should definitely be ad-free and should add on extra content, similar to that of iTune’s LP packages. Hulu’s big change might finally allow for other cable channels to jump on, those who were cautious of coming on board before. This is a great idea but it kind of destroys the beauty of watching free content online. It’s now going to be in competition with NetFlix and possibly YouTube, with their plan to allow movie rentals.

Just saw this. Man is this disappointing. Hulu is awesome, but I’m not feeling the whole pay thing.
