The App Store is continuing to break milestones. Today Apple announced that the Apple App Store has hit the 2 billion mark. That’s 2 billion apps downloaded by users. Apple hit 1 billion back in April and has not hit 2 billion within 5 months. Those are some staggering numbers. Here are some of the other numbers from Apple:

- Apple has sold over 50 Million iPhones and iPod Touches
- The App Store has over 85,000 apps and is continuing to grow.

Apple is continuing to rake in revenue from the App Store by charging 30% of the app sales. It’s helping drive iPhone and iPod Touch sales, even with the free apps in the App Store.

Now the question is, how fast can they hit 3 billion?
