Apple finally had its iPod event today and there really weren’t any surprises, except the iPod Touch didn’t get a camera. The new iPod Touch gets an increase in memory capacity and price drop, while the iPod Nano got a bigger screen, camera and a few other small updates. Here’s how they stack up: More »

In honor of Blitz’s launch, we’re giving out 3 copies of Madden NFL 10 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 system every week for the next three weeks. Seems like an appropriate gift don’t you think? If you already have the game, then you can opt for an Xbox 360 or PS3 controller instead. More »

From BlitzNation: Welcome to BlitzNation, home of the passionate NFL fan. We started BlitzNation because our love for football knows no bounds. We watch every game, read all the news, recaps and commentaries. And yet, that’s still not enough for us. We’re missing the fan’s perspective.
The fan’s perspective is so important because of team allegiances. We love it when our team wins, we suffer when our team loses. We live and die by them and that makes football and team allegiances sacred. Articles on BlitzNation are written by die-hard fans of your team - bloggers whom have had their allegiances vetted. When your team wins, you’ll experience joy and angst when your team loses. Regardless of what happens to your team, BlitzNation will be there to cover it all. More »

AT&T is doing their best to keep their customer base happy after complaints from many about their 3G service and handling of the iPhone data, MMS and tethering services. Today AT&T announced they’ll be adding a new feature called “A-List” to select calling plans on September 20th, which will allow customers unlimited talk time to five people.
The “A-List” is very much like T-Mobiles “My Faves” and Verizon’s “Friends and Family” plan. In order to qualify for the “A-List” customers need to have an individual plan of $59.99 or higher and a family plan of $89.99 or higher. The new feature will be available on September 20th. To manage your A-List, check out Att.com/alist. Will this help people from complaining about service and calling problems? I highly doubt it.

Apple has pretty much confirmed new iPods are coming out with price cuts on Pod Touch, Nano and the Classic. The only iPod not to get a cut was the shuffle, which was released in March of this year.
Here’s how the new price cuts look. More »
Palm Pre has decided to sneak up on everyone and release the Pixi. On a day that’s pretty much reserved for all Apple news (today is the iPod Event, if you didn’t know), Palm is trying to make a bold statement with a very small device.
The Pixi is a smaller version of the Palm Pre, but without the sliding keyboard and WiFi. It comes with 8GB storage capacity, 2 megapixel camera and will cost $149 on a 2-year contract from Sprint after rebates. More »
Yesterday we reported ASUS was planning to release a dual-screen Eee reader by the end of this year. We have more details and it’s off the hook. Asus apparently spoke to the Sunday Times and mentioned that their eBook will have full color, dual touchscreen, speakers, a mic and a webcam. Yeah, you read right, all of those things.
All this can be had for a price point of lower than $200. Hopefully it is true, because it can sink the Kindle and change the landscape of eReaders. I wouldn’t mind having this as the alternative to my Kindle. More »
Urban Outfitters has some pretty interesting Walkie Talkies. They look like they’re made out of LEGOs but unfortunately they’re not. They don’t even have the LEGO bumps we’ve all come to appreciate. The good news is that the walkie talkie actually works. You can buy one at Urban Outfitters site.

Best Buy jumped the gun today and started posting Apple iPod and iPod Touch accessories on their website. They obviously didn’t hear the rumors that it may be delayed. Either way, the listings aren’t anything new and don’t really give us any more detail than what we already knew. We’ll just have to wait till tomorrow to find out what goodies Mr. Jobs has for us. Here’s the link to the Best Buy listings if you’re bored and want to check it out.

Remember Dr. Dre’s previous headphone collection, the Studio Beats headphones and the in-ear Tours Beats headphones? Well, Dr. Dre is coming back again with a smaller version of his Studio Beats, boxing the same amount of sound quality and bass as the original.
Dubbed the Solo Beats, the over-the-ear headphones pack a similar but slimmer design, are available in two colors (black with red accents, white with gray accents) and deliver the same sound quality. Who says small isn’t the new big? More »
Sony should have introduced the Playstation 3 Slim a year ago and they would have been gold. According to the latest numbers, the Playstation 3 Slim has already sold over 150,000 in three days. That’s a sales jump of over 1,000 percent. Some still argue that it’s all about the price and it has nothing to do with the Slim. Whether or not it’s true, Sony has finally got some positive news about their Playstation 3 gaming console. More »
Apple’s iPod Event is almost here and you can expect a lot of coverage at the event. While most kids will be starting school and busy worrying about their first day, gadget freaks like myself will be sitting in front of my computer, looking to get the latest updates. But even before the event takes place, there are a few things we already know and will definitely be expecting tomorrow. Here’s a few of them: More »
‘It’s Only Rock And Roll’ Banner and Last Minute iPod Production Problems?
iPhone Savior points to this photo of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts that Apple has decorated in anticipation of the “It’s Only Rock and Roll” media event.
The lead up to the event has generated some speculation about what Apple might be announcing. Apple is, of course, expected to update the majority of their iPod line as they have done for the past several years during their September media events…Macrumors
A simple how-to on connecting a Wiimote to your Mac or PC
Now before you say something along the lines of “Uh, but why would I want to use a Wiimote when I’ve got a mouse” — no, I’ve changed my mind, go ahead and say it. … … WELL! I will tell you! Recall that your Wiimore and Nunchuk also sport buttons and a very functional analog stick. N64 emulator, anyone?…CrunchGear
Palm Pre rumored to be dropping to $150 on September 8th
We’ve already seen the Palm Pre dip below its $199 list price during a few limited, occasionally inadvertent sales, but it looks like it could soon be dropping well under the $200 mark for a slightly longer period of time — at least if a purportedly legit leaked document is to be believed. According to PreCentral, the doc comes from someone working at a Sprint “indirect partner retail dealer,” and quite clearly indicates that “indirect partners” will be able to sell the Pre for $149.99 (after a mail-in rebate) between September 8th and October 31st, 2009…Engadget

Choices For Age Appropriate Phones And Plans
The NY Times recently had a great piece about phones for kids. With increasing concerns about children online and texting too much, they came up with a few phone solutions that will help parents monitor how much time they spend on the phone along with the times they’re allowed to talk and text. There are three categories, each with recommended phones and software for choosing age appropriate phones…Ziggytek
Siemens has introduced a new stove that has taken a design out of the iPod playbook. Using magnets, the stove is able to increase and decrease the flame on the stove. The magnetic nobs are very similar to the touch wheel that many iPods sport. To make the stoves safe for children, Siemens allows the magnetic knobs to be removed, thus making the stove unusable.
