J.D. Power released the results of their 2009 Wireless Phone Satisfaction Study and what a surprise. The iPhone was rated number one in personal phone user satisfaction. They traced it to ease of operation, operating system, features and design.

What was actually surprising is that the iPhone beat out the BackBerry in the business phone satisfaction. This might be a sign of things to come. Ever since iPhone started to support exchange and other enterprise services, it has become more and more popular in the work place.

Other interesting information that was collected include: More that 40 percent of smartphone users replaced their land line calling entirely with mobile calling. More than one half of them downloaded third-party software and games.

This survey polled 12,595 mobile phone users and 3,221 smartphone users between January and June of this year.
