According to a Junior Achievent survey of 12-17 year olds, Steve Jobs is more popular than Oprah Winfrey, Tony Hawk, Mark Zuckerberg, The Olsen twins and Kimora Lee Simmons. That isn’t very surprising because most of those kids probably own Apple products.

Two thirds of the kids voted for Jobs because he, “made a difference in/improved people’s lives or made the world a better place”; and the other third voted because of his “success in multiple fields”. So not only is Steve Jobs the mind behind a successful company in Silicon Valley, he is now also popular among kids! Time’s couldn’t be better for Apple. The full breakdown of votes was:

  • Steve Jobs 35%
  • Oprah Winfrey 25%
  • Tony Hawk 16%
  • Mark Zuckerberg 10%
  • The Olsen twins 7%
  • Kimora Lee Simmons 4%

This is very surprising, considering Oprah is like God to some people. I wonder how she’s taking the news.

I thought Tony Hawk was known to the high school kids. Most kids don’t know who Steve Jobs is, especially in New York.
