Same day shipping? I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. Amazon Prime members can now pay $5.99 per item to get the item delivered on the same day. Prime is the subscription service that gives free two day shipping and $3.99 one day shipping for whoever wants to pay the $79 per year.
However, people who aren’t Prime members will need to pay a lot more than $5.99 per item. We’ve included the chart with prices below. The service is now available in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Las Vegas and Seattle and will be rolled out to Chicago, Indianapolis and Phoenix soon. To get a package on the same day, you just need to buy it by 1:00 PM PST. So that’s 11:00 AM for all of us on the east coast.
I could actually see myself using this. On a busy day, if I don’t want to pay the $4.50 roundtrip subway charge to go downtown to buy something, I could just pay $5.99 to have Amazon deliver it to me.
