Verizon is making some big ripples this month, and they are some interesting ones indeed. Verizon is believed to be receiving the new Motorola Droid, a small cube of Android goodness, sporting a full fledged QWERTY keyboard. The new iPhone bashing video (after the break) shows no signs of what the Droid has in store for us, instead listing a bunch of features on the iPhone that the Droid can do better.
BoyGeniusReport recently received a prototype of the Droid and it seems as if Motorola is packing some serious heat to blast themselves back into the game. The Motorola Droid is running a TI Omap 3430 processor, giving it the power to be the “fastest Android phone”. The phone also has a full QWERTY slide out keyboard from its slim exterior, and it comes with a charger/stand that allows the phone to be an alarm clock and a weather station.
BGR also said that Google was directly involved in the making of the phone, allowing them to dictate every design and feature on it. Kind of reminds us of Steve Jobs, no? It has also been reported that Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam has been flying back and forth from Google’s MountainView HQ every two weeks or so, in order to come to an agreement on the phone’s contract plan. Verizon is ready to lead the way with a possible Apple iPhone and Motorola Droid, hand in hand.
