Christmas is right around the corner, so it’s never too early to prepare for Christmas shopping. To help make it easier for you, we’ll be providing lists of some of the best gadgets out in the market during the next few weeks. So come check us out during the next few weeks and we’ll help you pick out gadgets you want for some of your favorite people on that Christmas list.
To help get it started, the first gadget group we’ll be targeting is smartphones. We all know how popular smartphones are nowadays and so it makes sense to give someone who’s constantly on the go and needs to stay connected, one of the best smartphones in the market. Here are some of the best smartphones in the current market from various companies.
iPhone 3GS - $299.00 (AT&T)
Although the iPhone 3GS didn’t make as big a ripple as the iPhone 3G in terms of design and features, it still preserves that user friendly UI and makes a great gift. The iPhone 3GS is a lot faster than its predecessor, hence the extra “S” and the improved battery life allows for flawless gaming and messaging. Call quality and 3G reception is still kind of spotty (we’ll just chalk it up to AT&Ts coverage) but other than that, the iPhone alongside the OS 3.0 software, rules the smart phone market.
RIM Blackberry Tour - $149.99 (Verizon & Sprint)
Right after the iPhone, the next best thing on the list would have to be the Blackberry Tour. One of Verizon’s highest rated smart phones, puts this one over the top in terms of features. With the Tour on Verizon and Sprint, users have world roaming capabilities, Bluetooth, GPS and a very slim and compact QWERTY keyboard. With all of the features packed in, ready to blow to the top, the Tour falls short with its lack of Wi-Fi which many business users look forward to having on their phones.
Palm Pre - $99.99 (Sprint)
The Palm Pre, gaining its popularity with the somewhat creepy commercials and the incessant advertising on any website imaginable. This helped Palm establish themselves into the smartphone market, competing with the top dogs. The Palm Pre’s multitasking capabilities allows for slick and smooth usability and the device’s multimedia integration attracts all of the gadget lovers in the market for an amazing phone.
MyTouch 3G - $199.99 (T-Mobile)
The MyTouch 3G is an amazing touchscreen phone, great for users looking for a phone with a good Internet browser, tactile controls, and an easy to use interface. What really hurts the MyTouch is the lack of basic features, such as a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a file manager. Other than that, the MyTouch distinguishes itself from the rest of the group with its seamless Google integration and overall great user functionality.
Nokia E71x - $49.99 (AT&T)
The Nokia E71x is one of the more affordable smartphones we’ve seen and even with this, it doesn’t skimp on features. The E71x has Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera, all packed into a sleek black structure. This seems like a great phone for Christmas because it offers everything you want without all the bells and whistles.
