Apple is so old in the MP3 player market that its already the iPod’s 8th anniversary. Eight years ago, Apple announced the first iPod, a clunky brick with a click wheel. The original iPod held only 1,000 songs, weighed 6.5 ounces and synced songs through Firewire, which took a while. Now, iPod Classics can hold 40x the amount of music and videos than the original, revolutionizing the way we interact with our music libraries.

This is an amazing accomplishment for Apple, although sales for iPods have been traveling along a sharp decline. I clearly remember my first iPod, the iPod Shuffle 2G which held only a couple hundred songs which led to a Nano and eventually an iTouch. When did you get your first iPod? How many have you had(or still have)?
