Reddit was looking very dark and grim today as Steve Huffman and Alex Ohanian, founders of the company walked out the door. Huffman and Ohanian announced earlier today that they will be resigning due to their contract expiration. It has been exactly 3 years since Conde Nast acquired Reddit and took the employees over with it, including Huffman and Ohanian who signed a 3 year contract during acquisition.

Reddit was paid for by Y Combinator, and was launched in 2005 as the next best thing after Digg. Although Digg and Reddit seem to be based on the same concept, they each have a different community of people. So where are the two founders off to now? Huffman says that he wll be spendning time with his new wife in Virginia, while Ohanian will be working on his latest project, BreadPig, and will also be working in Armenia as a Kiva Fellow.
