Verizon is making some big ripples this month, and they are some interesting ones indeed. Verizon is believed to be receiving the new Motorola Droid, a small cube of Android goodness, sporting a full fledged QWERTY keyboard. The new iPhone bashing video (after the break) shows no signs of what the Droid has in store for us, instead listing a bunch of features on the iPhone that the Droid can do better.
BoyGeniusReport recently received a prototype of the Droid and it seems as if Motorola is packing some serious heat to blast themselves back into the game. The Motorola Droid is running a TI Omap 3430 processor, giving it the power to be the “fastest Android phone”. The phone also has a full QWERTY slide out keyboard from its slim exterior, and it comes with a charger/stand that allows the phone to be an alarm clock and a weather station. More »
Apple Q4 results have arrived and once again it’s a very good one for Apple! Quarter 4 ended today and Apple received some great results. Apple posted a revenue of $9.87 Billion and a quarterly profit of $1.67 billion, pushing each Apple share up to $1.82, which analysts did not expect. This quarter, Apple sold 3.05 million Macs, 17 percent higher than what they sold last year and 7.4 million iPhones, up 7 percent from last year.
According to CEO Steve Jobs, this is a record sales number for Apple. Every year, Apple’s record number of sales seem to be growing, pushing further each year. In Quarter 3, Apple sold 5.2 million iPhones which was a 626% jump from the previous year. This quarter shows a record amount of growth, which can only mean that Apple is looking ahead to great sales figures in the near future. More »
Not sure if you’ve heard the latest rumors but apparently Veriozon’s CEO, Lowell McAdams has been paying Steve Jobs’ Apple headquarter visits the past few months, apparently because Verizon is working on a CDMA version of the iPhone.
This could only mean 2 things, Verizon is teasing customers again or things are pretty bad in AT&T land that Apple is looking for another wireless carrier to become the exclusive carrier of the iPhone. Or maybe Apple is thinking about expanding their customer base by offering it on the Verizon network? More »
Last week, I receieved the Peek Pronto from the folks at Peek to do a quick review and test out their latest promo, lifetime service with the purchase of a Peek through Amazon. While I was excited to be trying out the Peek device, I was disappointed with the keyboard. Actually, I think I hate all physical keyboards on smartphones. I didn’t realize how annoying it was to type on a smartphone with physical keys until I started using the Peek. To make sure it wasn’t the Peek’s keyboard that bothered me, I used my sister’s Palm Treo, and my friend’s blackberry and they gave me the same feeling, frustration. More »
Ah, the shower, the one place to go after a long dirty day on the job. For most of us, its a routine, go in, take a shower, come out but with the new Vado Shower head, you’ll want to take two or three extra showers a day. The Vado shower head would be amazing to have in the bathroom, spraying water in every direction from any of the six protruding arms.
This particular shower head can be set up so that multiple shower features are included in one. For example, the Vado shower head can be set up to run like a traditional shower head, the rain effect shower head, and even those full body systems that everyone wants. This seems like a great concept shower head to manufacturer although it won’t come cheap.

Apple’s App Store, a world of excitement, filled with racing, jumping, tapping, and more . Until today, in-app purchases were limited to only paid apps. Now, Apple has decided to allow In-app purchases on any free apps, eliminating the Lite iPhone apps from the store. Developers have designed these apps to try and get the user to buy things, allowing a download straight through the app.
Lite apps are being pulled and replaced with upgrades so the devs can sell you content, subscriptions, and other services through the free apps, instead of having the user download multiple apps for one purpose. This could slow down the rate of app downloads for Apple, but will improve the overall usability of the app store, making the apps more available through subsections in the store and power search.

First up, there are rumors surrounding a possible update to the iMac line of desktops. Supposedly, the iMacs were supposed to get Blu-ray drives, but that may have been nixed very recently. Also, Intel’s new Core i7 quad-core mobile processors are rumored to power the new desktops. These “Clarksfield” chips come in 1.6Ghz, 1.73Ghz and 2.0Hz variants.
Second, rumors are heating up about the next Mac Pro coming with Core i9 6-core Xeon chips from Intel. These “Gulftown” chips will have 12MB of L3 cache and support 10Gbit internet and 16GB RAM sticks. That means that a maxed out Mac Pro could potentially have 12 cores and 128GB of RAM. It is also very likely that the new chips will be exclusive to Apple for a few months, just like with previous Mac Pros.
