Just in time for the Christmas season, the Nixon headphones make an appearance, blending the ultimate Christmas colors with a traditional twist (red and gold). The Nixon headphones are designed using memory foam cushions so they never change shape and always retain the user’s head and ear shape. Dubbed The Nomadic Range, the headphones also incorporate a full sized volume knob for easy access, a synthetic leather headband to add some Christmas style and color, a ball and socket design for 360 flexibility (Patent Pending), a folding hinge (for portability), and a 40mm driver. Japan’s Twitter is putting a little twist on how they operate, adding Premium accounts and micro payments. Starting next January, Twitter Japan will allow users to purchase Premium accounts, which then can be accessed by other users who pay a small fee to view these tweets and guess what? Twitter will be pocketing almost 30% of the profits. This isn’t very surprising, since Twitter has no ads on their site, so this is a way for them to make some money while picking up new users. The past few weeks (including today), we’ve been hearing rumors of a possible Google phone coming (mid-next year) to compete in the extremely crowded smartphone market. Along with that rumor, came that AT&T wants to be the exclusive data provider of the upcoming Google Phone. If those rumors hold true and AT&T hops in bed with Google, what does it mean for its exclusive rights to the iPhone?
On the surface, it doesn’t seem like AT&T and Apple are having any problems. I mean have you seen Apple’s latest commercials firing back at Verizon for the “Droid Does” commercials. Apple is defending AT&T like they’re best buds. More »

Remember once upon a time when Blu-Ray and HD-DVD bought for the next generation DVD format? Great times right? Well, for those of you “losers”, HD-DVD fans, you’re finally getting some help, at least from Warner Bros.
For $4.95, Warner Bros, will let you swap your HD-DVD for a Blu-Ray title. Yup, you can get rid of that HD-DVD you no longer want and join the masses with Blu-Ray content. There is one small caveat, a $6.95 shipping fee but you can swap up to 25 titles, so just pack them all in and ship it out. It’s not such a bad deal considering Blu-Ray disks are still expensive. Amazon continues to chug along this holiday season. Today they announced in a press release that November was the best month for them ever in terms of Kindle sales. They didn’t specify how many Kindles they’ve sold but it’s safe to say, they’ve sold a lot.
That’s a grand statement considering Amazon also sells Apple iPods, which are usually at the top of Christmas lists every year. This year it seems like eReaders are the way to go, as Barnes & Nobles announced earlier this month, that they’re Nook device was sold out till January.
Of course, part of Amazon’s increased sales were due to the decrease in price to $259 from $360 earlier this year and introducing a world edition in October. Since there are no hard numbers, we’ll just have to take Amazon’s word for it. They wouldn’t lie to us, right?

For those of you that remember the CrunchPad, the device that was supposed to compete with netbooks from TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington, it’s all over. Arrington wrote on his TechCrunch blog today that the project to create the CrunchPad, ended abruptly “over nothing more than greed, jealousy and miscommunication.”
For those of you not sure what the CrunchPad is or was supposed to be, it was supposed to be the next generation internet touchscreen device that launches only a web browser with no hard drive or any memory system (although Arrington did say hackers could have installed either Chrome or Windows 7). The idea behind it was genius but of course with any kind of product comes the hurdles and it seems like the CrunchPad just couldn’t get its biggest one, the people behind it. More »
This weekend’s news of Tiger Woods getting into a car accident, Allen Iverson retiring (for the moment) and the shooting of four Police Officers in Washington State, were sent to me in the form of Twitter Tweets and text messages. While I did watch TV, it wasn’t breaking news or anything of that nature, to the TV stations showing holiday programming and football.
With all three news reports, I was somewhat shocked and instantly found myself grabbing my laptop to read about it in details. More »
Today is Cyber Monday in the United States. This comes a few days after Black Friday. If you’re not sure what Cyber Monday is, it’s exactly what it sounds like, shopping online. It’s another day for retailers to continue their sales after the Thanksgiving holiday season.
Retailers like Amazon, Dell.com, are going to offer amazing deals for products online. While many of the discounts may not be as low as they were on Black Friday, it’s a great time for those who hate crowds, to buy whatever they want with cheaper discounts than on normal days.
If you had to shop, which day would you prefer, Cyber Monday or Black Friday?
Black Friday came and went with US retailers claiming an increase in shoppers and higher sales. While I didn’t buy anything this year, gadgets are usually at the top of the list for many. I have a few friends who bought TV’s and GPS systems. I thought about buying some accessories for my computer but then last minute decided not to, just because it’s not something I need.
So, we have to naturally ask, did you buy any electronics of gadgets this Black Friday? Is there something you wanted but holding off until it gets cheaper?

From Girlybubble: In case anyone’s been wondering, I’ve been an awfully good girl this year. I’ve been so good, you should probably start thinking about what to get me for Christmas. Just in case you’re fresh out of ideas, might I point you in the direction of all things USB-friendly? Like say USB panda head speakers, perhaps? More »
Smart phones are the future of communication but some are just too expensive to buy. Keep in mind that almost every smart phone usually requires a 2 to 4 year contract. So, here at ZiggyTek, we’ve decided to put together the top 5 bargain smartphones that combine simplicity, ease, and high tech features without all of the random numbers and extra prices. More »
