Is the iPhone falling behind? That’s the question that is running through many of our minds at this point. With the release of the new Droid, its obvious that other phone manufacturers are capturing the mesmerizing features of the iPhone UI into their own. The new HTC Hero touch screen interface resembles that of the iPhone. The touchscreen ease is about the same and it allows excellent personalization which the iPhone lacks.

Apple has to release something that will wow the tech crowd once again, something as seismic as the iPhone release back in 2007. If Apple pulls through with their Tablet release, then they will gain back some of the momentum that they once had. Also, they should plan to move the iPhone to other networks, possibly Verizon or Sprint, AT&T just isn’t doing it for them. As a matter of fact, it is costing them more money to keep up with AT&T’s spotty networks and delayed features, such as MMS which was a huge issue a few months ago.

Without the transfer of networks, Apple never has the chance to move onto 4G which AT&T can’t support at this point. This will cost them big time when HTC and Motorola move into 4G. Apple needs to do something quickly before they lose their fame as the company ahead of the smartphone market, with the risk of losing millions of customers.
