“There’s an app for that”, is Apple’s tagline for their famous app store, which holds over 100,000 third party applications available for download. So, because the app store’s birthday is only a few months away, and iPhone apps are on the cusp of popularity, we’ve assembled 5 iPhone apps that are easy to use, interesting, can carry a heavy workload, and are just plain handy:

1. Shazam

Shazam is an amazing app for that song that just doesn’t roll off the tip of your toungue. Shazam works in a special way by tagging your music with any available resources on the Internet. For example, when you click the “tag now” button and hold your iPhone up to any song that you don’t recognize, it’ll automatically find the name, artist and a Youtube and iTunes link for purchase. In order to use the app, users must be connected to a WiFi network (iPod Touch Users). The basic Shazam app is available for free, while the Encore version costs $4.99. You can get yours in the app store.

2. Photoshop.com Mobile

Now, while this doesn’t pack the features of Photoshop on the computer, it does give you the basic stuff like resizing your photos and changing colors, adding text. Photoshop, when compared to other photo editing apps is slightly limited in terms of features, but the app is free, why not get it? The Photoshop app is just a stripped down version of the desktop Photoshop. Photoshop iPhone is available in the app store now.

Evernote is an amazing app that allows you to take as many notes as your brain can conjure up. Alongside typing notes, it also allows users to save portions of a webpage, saving it exactly as it appears. Evernote also allows audio memos which brings an assortment of features all into one. This is a great app for business user who would like to have all audio, notes, and webpages, organized an most importantly, in one app. The Evernote app is available for Free in the app store.

Mint.com is a great site for organizing your personal finances. Well, the Mint.com iPhone app is just as effective as the site itself, bringing you up to date information on all of your expenses and budgets on a weely or monthly budget. The app connects with your credit card(s), and bank accounts, bringing all your financial data straight to your fingertips. The Mint.com app is free in the app store.

Pandora is your own personalized radio, featuring radio stations based on specific songs or artists.
