WiFi arrived to 42nd street in downtown manhattan just yesterday, between 42nd and 43rd streets, compliments of Yahoo. Now, Google has decided to give out free WiFi in 47 US airports for the holiday season. In a joint deal with Boingo Wireless, Advanced Wireless Group, and Airport Marketing Income, Google has managed to set up WiFi in all of these airports nationwide.

Google’s plan is to bring the price of airport WiFi down to a bare minimum of $0. Isn’t that great? Some of the 47 airports that will benefit from this WiFi setup will include, Las Vegas, Seattle, Miami, Boston, San Jose and Baltimore. These central airports carry about 35% of the United States’ passengers, which is why Google’s WiFi plan will hold out until January 15th, when it will be once again discussed to see if the plan will stick around.
