Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft should be afraid because the iPhone is coming after them. The iPhone, since its introduction in 2007 has grown to be the face of the mobile smart phone market. Every new phone that comes out is always competing. Now, we did say before that the iPhone was falling behind, we still stand by it, but the truth is that iPhone hasn’t fallen behind yet which is the main thing.

The iPhone has the potential to become an amazing gaming device. We all know that Steve Jobs is a man whose life is dedicated to simplicity. He will never include anything in an iPhone, iPod, or Mac if he knows it is not necessary, which is why from the beginning of the iPhone’s life, we could have guessed that gaming was in its future. Again, other phones such as the DROID are trailing the iPhone, ready to take over at any point but the iPhone always has the potential to take back its rightful spot, if only a few problems could be solved. For example, the iPhone’s battery life has been a big issue ever since it crossed into 3G and the heavy gaming doesn’t help it at all.

Another thing would have to be the fact that its a smart phone. While this may sound a little wierd, it is indeed true. The fact that the iPhone is a smart phone limits its range as a mobile gaming device, because it was designed for the average user, not hardcore gamers. More gaming features and better battery life is what users really want. The iPhone is already halfway there with the gaming, they just need to take that extra step to reach the top.
