The Holiday season is upon us once again and we know people are going to scramble when it comes time to exchange presents. One of the most common presents given during the holiday season is TVs and here at ZiggyTek, we thought it would be great if we gave our users tips on how to buy a good quality TV. So, all you have to do is follow these steps and you’ll be all set with a TV that fits your needs.
1. Fit For Your Room
Decide what kind of TV fits best in your bedroom. Right now, debating whether to get a plasma or LCD is not a problem, try to see how big a TV you need and if you have the space for it in your room. That will help you make the ultimate decision of how big your TV should be and how much you’ll be spending. Don’t forget though, in your bedroom, the ceiling may be lower than department and electronic stores, so your TV may look larger in your room. Try your best to estimate just how much space your bedroom really has and try to picture the size before going out to actually buy a TV.
2. Picture That Looks Good To You
One of the biggest problem about an HDTV transition is adjusting to the sharper image and larger screen size. Well, the easiest way to be comfortable with your new found investment is to get accustomed to the screen before buying the TV. Make sure all colors are correct on the screen, black should be black and red, well, red. There should be no motion blur or you’ll be looking at a constant lag, especially when you hook up the HD Service from you cable company. Take your time to shop for a TV, in the end, it’ll pay off.
3. Buy A Familiar Brand
We can’t stress this enough, always buy a brand that you can rely. Don’t buy a brand that your neighbors said was good, only to have it break down on you the second you hook it up. Usually, the store will have its own house brand, learn to avoid those, because chances are, they use cheaper components than your average Vizio, Sony, or Samsung.
4. Have No Fear, Buying Online Is Here
First off, price may be an issue with those in the market for a TV but that’s not what we’re here to talk about first. Most people who shop are afraid to make their purchases online, fearing that they’ll get scammed or duped into buying something they don’t want to. Well, a great way to buy your TV online is to check it out in the store first. This will give you a sense of what you want in your TV. After your trip to the store, you can buy your TV online, knowing exactly what you want. Here is where the price point comes in. When you buy online it tends to be cheaper than most retail stores, so as long as you have a good online retailer with cheap shipping and a good return policy, you’re set to purchase you TV.
